Valérie Lord was the featured guest on a recent edition of the popular Sickboy podcast, speaking about her experience as an airplane crash victim and how that experience led her career as a class action litigator.

In response to the hosts’ questions, Valerie recounted her memories of escaping from a burning plane and running for her life in a rain-drenched field. She also explained how that experience helps her to empathize with her clients and why she would happily re-brand her personal injury practice as “social justice law.”

The unorthodox podcast is hosted by Jeremie Saunders, who lives with Cystic Fibrosis, and his two best friends. Their goal is to reduce the shame and social isolation often felt by people who are suffering from chronic or fatal health conditions. Through their informal interview style and irreverent approach, the hosts are working to change public opinion toward people living with illness and disease.
