Cerebral palsy is an umbrella term that generally refers to damage to the motor control centres of the developing brains of infants and children. Injury resulting in cerebral palsy can occur during pregnancy or childbirth. Cerebral palsy can also occur after birth up to about age three.
While improved medical care has decreased the number of cerebral palsy cases we see today, incidents still occur due to medical malpractice and negligence. Symptoms of cerebral palsy include muscle weakness, spasms, irregular posture, seizures, skeletal issues, and speech and language disorders. Often, infants’ symptoms are difficult to detect or they become more evident with time.
To us your child is a life, not a file
Parents who know or suspect their child has cerebral palsy should consult with an experienced personal injury lawyer to discuss their rights and options. Accommodations and care for cerebral palsy victims are often very costly, and families deserve additional compensation for these expenses, as well as for the victims’ diminished quality of life.
If you have questions regarding cerebral palsy, our law firm can assist you. We understand how to predict and calculate all your expenses many years into the future, so you can get the maximum compensation available.
